I used to have a huge microwave which worked fine but when it finally died on me, I went to this sleeker, compact model. We’ve had it for four years now. We use it for everything: baking potatoes, cooking corn on the cob, making popcorn, boiling pasta, heating lean cuisines, melting cheese, thawing frozen bread and so forth. It is still going strong and I am buying more cooking equipment which one can use to cook in the microwave. I now have a pasta boiler for the microwave and it works great in this oven. We use the oven every single day and I would buy another in a flash if this broke. I got this for under fifty bucks at my warehouse club so I have gotten every penny out of my purchase.
This Sharp was purchased to replace a 700 watt microwave which had lasted “forever”. Only time will tell if the Sharp will give as good a service. The touch-pad controls are not very user friendly and the door has a cheap feel when operated. But the unit works well and the compact size is nice.
